What's A Darius? (Cont.)

-For all of the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team fans out there. This is as close to the truth as it comes. No matter some of the wins, fire Bradley and the rest of his regime. He needs to go. God have mercy on the team August 12th.

broseph, i dont understand why you want bradley fired. This team that he brought to the Gold Cup was the United States 'C' team. Not even the 'B.' He just coached his team through a gorgeous Confederations Cup and is on the brink of World Cup qualification. Why fire him now?

Tim, to be completely honest, I was happy with some of the results that we got from our A-team in the Confed Cup, but no matter team he brought to the Gold Cup, he still had the talent to win it--simply because every other team in the tournament isn't up to the same part. And that includes Mexico as well.

Look, we don't have the same depth as a European power, but for those guys out there to lose 5-0 to Mexico--regardless of which team is playing--is poor. And those kinds of losses--against Brazil (twice), Italy, Costa Rica, etc.--are unacceptable. It's like Jamie Trecker said at the end of his column: if this were to happen at any other country in the world, the coach wouldn't be allowed to coach the next game. He would've been fired. Bradley's had at least five of these embarrassing losses now and the team continually plays sloppy, convoluted soccer. The team has the ability to make its own style and win against good teams. But with the current coaching regime now, they can't possibly do it. The USSF needs to stop hiring its good ol' boys from within the country and attract legitimate coaches from outside The States or else a repeat of the '06 World Cup is going to happen.

I was actually going to ask you about your opinion via Facebook yesterday because I know you've been watching the matches. Hope to hear from you soon and I'll definitely be over at yours and Eamz's room when we're back in Athens.
